story time

Come join us for songs, activities, stories and a theme related craft. Preschool Storytime is conducted on Mondays beginning at 2:30 PM in  8-10 week sessions.  The summer 2017 session begins Monday, June 19th and continues through Monday, August 28th. This program is best suited to children ages 2-5. No registration is required.

school visits

School visits by Dover Elementary School students are held the first and third Friday of every month. Homeschoolers are encouraged to contact the children’s librarian to arrange homeschool visits.

Family Film Night

Family Film Nights are held once a month in the winter on a Friday; they are free and open to the public.  Specific movie information can be found on the Calendar of Events or by calling the library 802-348-7488.

WINTER BREAK FUN WEEK 2017

Take a break from the winter blues and add a little spice to your family time by joining the Dover Free Library at one or all of the free programs for kids and families during the Winter Break Fun Week February 20th  - February 24th. Some programs may require registration.  All programs are free and held at the library. Happy Birthday Storytime

Mon., Feb. 20th, 2:30pm

Happy Birthday!! Come listen to some children’s books about special birthdays and celebrate with us. Theme related craft and activities best suited for children under 8 accompanied by an adult.

Pizza Party!

Mon., Feb.20th, 5:30pm  

Whet your appetite for pizza and some good stories at the same time. Join us for pizza themed books and activities. Reservations are appreciated, but don’t be late for dinner…first come/first served.

Mad Science® presents: Brixology – a Lego® building workshop (registration required)

Tues., Feb.21st, 6:00pm (Ages 6-12)

Children ages 6 through 12 should register now for this highly popular library workshop which includes hands-on science to discover nature’s engineering secret: biomimicry. Build a walking insect machine and then test different ways to help it climb up the steepest branch. Take home a surprise bag of Legos® compliments of the library. Game Tournament

Wed., Feb. 22nd, 1-3pm (Ages 5-12)

Children ages 5 through 12 are invited to drop by the library to play a variety of  board and card games to collect points toward prizes. No registration is necessary. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult. (Clue, Checkers, Pictureka, Spot It and so much more)

Movie Matinee Event

Fri. Feb. 24th, 1-3pm

Everyone’s favorite giant is on the “big screen” at Dover Free Library. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Film rated PG

COMING THIS SUMMER TO DOVER FREE LIBRARY! The fun begins June 30th for youth ages 3-17. Pick up a free reading logbook any time after school ends and read to earn certificates and rewards. Check out our Teen page for more information about our Contest for Teens
