story time

Come join us for songs, activities, stories and a theme related craft. Preschool Storytime is conducted on Mondays beginning at 2:30 PM in  8-10 week sessions.  The Winter 2017/18 session begins Monday, December 11th and continues through Monday, February 26th. The library will be Closed Monday, December 25th and January 1st. This program is best suited to children ages 2-5. No registration is required.

school visits

School visits by Dover Elementary School students are held the first and third Friday of every month. Homeschoolers are encouraged to contact the children’s librarian to arrange homeschool visits.

Family Film Night

Family Film Nights are held once a month in the winter on a Friday; they are free and open to the public.  Specific movie information can be found on the Calendar of Events or by calling the library 802-348-7488. 


school vacation programs


Take a break from the winter blues and add a little spice to your family time by joining the Dover Free Library at one or all of the free programs for kids and families during the Winter Break Fun Week February 19th  - February 23th. Some programs may require registration.  All programs are free and held at the library.

Happy Birthday Storytime

Mon., Feb. 19th, 2:30pm

Happy Birthday!! Come listen to some children’s books about special birthdays and celebrate with us. Theme related craft and activities best suited for children under 8 accompanied by an adult.

Lightsaber Science with Mad Science of New England

Mon., Feb.19th, 6:30-7:30pm  

Explore the differences and similarities of science and fiction in this fun and informative workshop for kids grades K-5. The program includes a make-your-own lightsaber to take home. Space is limited, please contact the Dover Free Library to register or register on the Library’s website.

Star Wars Movie and Pizza Night

Tues., Feb.20th, 5:00pm

Come for a bite of pizza and a helping of Star Wars. Let us surprise you with a throwback adventure on our big screen in the Library’s Community Room. Children under age 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Crafternoon at the Library

Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, 11-1 (Up to Age 12)

Children up to age 12 are invited to drop by the library for some open table crafts. Lots of ideas and creativity for parent/child duos and kids up to 6th grade.  No registration is necessary. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Jedi Challenge VR & BB-8 Driod Demonstration Event

Friday, Feb. 23rd, 5-7pm (Ages 12 and up)

Get a look and perhaps test drive the new Lenovo/Disney Virtual Reality experience:  Star Wars Jedi Challenge. Signed parent/guardian release is required for participants under age 18. Also appearing…Star Wars BB-8 Driod.
