Allison Maynard

Allison Maynard joined Dover Free Library in October of 2023. Born in New Jersey, Allison spent summers in Wilmington growing up. After graduating from Mount Holyoke College, Allison moved to Vermont and has been here ever since. She received her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. Before starting at Dover Free, Allison was the Library Director at Pettee Memorial Library in Wilmington, which was named a Library Journal Starred Library in 2022. She lives in Jacksonville with her husband, daughter, dog, cat, and 20 chickens. In her nonexistent free time, Allison enjoys reading, writing, hiking, swimming, and crafting.

 

Ellis Townsley

Ellis joined Dover Free Library in December 2023. He has been working in libraries since he was 15 years old, getting his start volunteering at the library in his hometown of Ashfield, MA. He has worked in many kinds of libraries, but loves small rural libraries most of all. After completing his undergraduate degree, Ellis went on to spend a year in a Masters of Library and Information Science program at Simmons University in Boston before deciding to pause his studies and transfer elsewhere in the future. He currently lives with his family in Colrain, MA. In his free time, Ellis likes to read, watch movies, spend time with his family and friends, and play with his beloved cat Tortellini.

Kendra Urquhart
Youth Librarian

With a background in social services and childcare, Kendra is dedicated to fostering a love of reading and public libraries in youth. She strives to create inclusive spaces where children, youth, and families can build community and connect with each other. She empowers young patrons to take the lead in their learning journey, fostering an environment where they feel supported to explore, innovate, and discover. Kendra offers a variety of programs and activities that focus on fun, learning, and literacy.
